Just a "Mayo Clinic" update. We have canceled our appointment with Mayo and, as of yet, have not rescheduled. I think I mentioned that earlier. However, Mayo's has said that they will "evaluate" the pathology slides taken from the 3 biopsies I've had (2 in Madison & 1 in Rockford) and we are jumping at that opportunity. The Physician's Assistant from Mayo that I spoke with encouraged us to send the slides themselves - not the reports - and Mayo's pathology department will take a "look see" and come to their own independent conclusion as to diagnosis. That is really all we have ever wanted. We have taken the long way to get here - but we are just thrilled with the idea. Thank you, God!!

Today I've contacted all pathology departments involved and the slides are on their way. Yes!!!

Love to all,
Deb

Excellent! We do this often for our patients...send the data and let Mayo diagnosis as a second opinion. It is a great reassurance for the patient and you don't have to travel!
Thanks so much for the updates.

  4. What great news! What a blessing that you can get the second opinion without trying to work an appointment around your treatments.

  8. Debbie Dear,
There is not a day that goes by that we don't pray for you. Praise God that Mayo will be able to answer your question and you will feel at ease. I'm glad to see you will start Chemo. Wednesday is the busiest day, so I would imagine you will be set up on a Monday or Friday to go. Friday is a good day, because if you do get sick, it won't be until at least Monday or Tuesday. They have a new med. anti nausea iv drug that last for 3 to 5 days, its wonderful! This way you will have a good weekend. I'm praying you will have Dr William Schulz. He is a Christian, has a very gentle spirit. It will be 5 years fighting this C, if I make it! So far, so good! I'm glad you won't have to travel to Mayo's also. It is a very pretty ride, but very hard and long, especially when you don't feel good. Just wanting to say, your in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Fonda
