Hello! My legs are feeling better - very little Tylenol today. Thank you for praying! My spirit is refreshed by your kindness. I'm guessing that these leg things will be like the other side effects - here a few days and gone (hopefully, prayerfully!). The Bible does not teach that a Christian never has pain - or that one short desperate prayer will take all illness away - by no means. My comfort comes because there is MUCH comfort in knowing that God directs and gives strength to endure as are my days!!

I just have to tell you this. Last night I was laying awake a little bit - not long, just waiting for a few minutes to pass by to take more Tylenol - and I began to think about the healings that Jesus did while He was here on earth that we find recorded for us throughout the Gospels. My mind settled on the men that lowered the paralytic down through the roof on a mat to get to Jesus for healing because there were too many people crowding the doorway. (Mark 2:1-12) What marvelous folks those were!! I'm guessing here, but don't you suppose the paralytic was so very grateful for those men who found a way to bring him to Jesus? That got me to thinking today and I've read just a little bit of the healings found throughout Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. A lot of the sick, paralyzed, blind, demon-possessed, and otherwise unhealthy folks - not all, but a lot - were brought to Jesus by other people...family, friends, perhaps neighbors (the Bible sometimes just calls them "people").

My thought is this...how grateful we are, beyond words, for the love and care, prayers and tears of those of you that are surrounding us now and bringing us before the throne of God. And in the days to come. Unbelievably grateful!

Love you,
Don & Deb

So very glad that you have some relief from the leg pain. You come to mind through out my day and when you do I lift your name before our All Mighty God and Savior, asking that he provide for you what is needed to make your day better. How "pressing" it would have been for family members to bring their ill loved one to Jesus, when they heard of all the healings he was doing! Can't you just feel your heart beating faster as you put yourself in that paralytics spot as he was lowered through the roof, with the anticipation of Jesus doing something for him?! I pray for our Father's calming presence in your life! May tonight be a rest filled night for you! Lifting you up as I close! With love, David and Laura

  2. Hi Deb and Don,

I am so blessed by you when I read your messages. This sent to me another story of the man who was a leper and for 5 years was banished to a colony. In Max Lucado's book, "Just Like Jesus" This leper is brought to life by Max in a story of how he was not touched by anyone for those five years. The last touch was by his wife and now five years later next to Jesus he is filled with hope that Jesus will heal him. "Lord you can heal me if you will." Then Jesus moved towards him like no one had in the last five years and Jesus said, "I will" as he touched the lepers shoulder and said, "Be Healed"
As Laura described the paralytic and his anticipation of what Jesus could do this man too anticipated what Jesus would do. I can't imagine what it was like to be in their places. This man along with his illness that was horrible in itself but to be rejected and castaway and with a word being a full person again. Lord I pray for Deb today that she is standing beside the healer himself, comforted in knowing that you are with her. I pray that now that the symptoms have passed that the medicine would react positively in her body. I thank you Lord for her love for you and how she shares it with everyone that she comes in contact with. Please bring her peace and understanding. In Jesus Name
