Hello!
We're off to Madison early tomorrow morning for "cycle #2". It's like Morse code - 1 long day (Tuesday) and 2 short ones (Wednesday & Thursday). We're almost ready...I just have a couple more things to do before turning in.

Today has been a most emotional day...it has been trying. I have cried most of the day, yelled at my husband (how could I have done that????), and then, of course, cried some more. I don't know if it's getting ready for Madison that is the trigger or other things, but, whew!, I'm ready to call it a day. Today has just been a struggle, though I am a little more "evened out" now tonight. Thank you, God, for the peace that has come.

It was wonderful being with family tonight to celebrate Mia's birthday! A beautiful night to be outside, though storms threatened off to the west as the evening wore on. Everything just got loaded when the first drops came...yea!!

Talk with you soon...love to you, each one...
Don & Deb

  1. I know how much you hate to lose control, but sometimes we all need a "valve release". I am sure you weren't as bad as you think, and Don is more understanding than you probably realize. Think of it as a blow-out of the old treatment and a clearing for the week ahead. Don knows you and loves you, he, I am quite certain has already moved passed the moment. Don is a great guy and he sees more than just that moment too. Please, don't be too hard on yourself; I don't recommend a blow out everyday, but be kind to yourself too. We love you both beyond words, km

  2. Dearest Deb and Don,
If it helps, you can "yell" at us too. We will
still be there to put our arms around you and comfort you.
The evening was surely the high-light when Mia opened her gift from you and found the umbrella
and raincoat (and boots) that she had told you she had wished for since she was 3 years old!
How precious. Her face just lit up. It must have tugged at your heartstrings.....it did mine.
    It was a great celebration.
We will be thinking of you today and praying all goes well.

  4. Hey Deb,
Did you know the the Morse code letter for 1 long, 2 short is the letter D?
That reminds me of D for Deb, Don, Drive, Determination, Delight....
Drive ahead with God at your side
Determine to defeat this cancer with God as your guide
Delight in the Lord at all times.
Our prayers are for you all in all of this. Keep strong in Him.
    Love,
    Janet and Steve
