What a hoot!! I just had to write one more time tonight to tell you about our dinner this evening. Mexican!! Yes - that's right...Mexican! Homemade guacamole, pico de gallo, chips & salsa (even a taste of the hot one), charro beans (Brad & Linda, I haven't had good charro beans since the Rio Bravo "dinner out" nights! These were good, very good and brought back such good memories...). Who'd a thunk it...the night after chemo, eating Mexican!! Thank you, dear God, for putting the "frosting on the cake"!!

We've chuckled our way through dinner...and now are turning in for the night, resting our little heads once again in the care of the Father.

Good night and God bless you, each one...
Love,
Don & Deb

  1. Dearest Deb, so wonderful to hear that this first chemo went well - to the point of eating Mexican food! You're right - who would've thunk it??!! What a blessing you have been to share not only your thoughts, experiences, and feelings with all of us, but your tremendous faith and love for our Father shines through all of this cancer. By your sharing this so personally, it has helped us all to "walk this journey" with you and Don. We love you and Don so very much, and continue to pray and trust our wonderful God for your care.

    Love you,
    Butch & Teri

Too funny! When my appetite ran low during chemo my Doctor's advise was basically "If it tastes good EAT IT!" Thus, I ate BOXES of Twinkies and BAGS of Cheeto's and numerous Rasberry Sundaes from Culvers! In fact, on one trip up for my check up, we pulled in at a Culvers and I got a tripple....yes, tripple scoop Rasberry Sundae! Got to Madison, did my blood work, went in to see Dr. Longo. Going over my blood work he voiced his concern that my blood sugar was VERY high! Right then and there I had to confess to my GIANT rasberry sundae! His only comment was..."That would do it!"

May your spirits remain high as you continue to be a joy to the rest of us!

    Luv, Linda M
